Me at 30 weeks prego...
2 weeks later
Radlyn Robison arrived!
She decided to come about 8 weeks early, much to everyone's surprise.
We weren't ready at all to have a new baby, but she is here and doing quite well!
My water broke early Tuesday morning about 345 AM, after waking Jason in a panic we rushed to the hospital only to find out that they couldn't deliver me because I was so early.
I was taken by ambulance to the Univeristy Hospital
We spent most of the day in Labor & Delivery trying to determine what was going on.
I wasn't in active labor for most of the day so they where crossing their fingers that she would stay in for at least another 24 hours. I was given 1 shot of the steroids to help the babies lungs develop and was suppose to get another shot 24 hours later....but the baby had other plans!
As soon as they transfered me out of the unit I started to have some contractions. I was hoping they would go away but instead they just got stronger. Of course my kids had come up to visit me and had to see me in a little bit of pain. After they left I really started progressing and finaly had someone come check me. I was quickly taken back over to L&D where my contractions came faster and stronger by the moment. I told them I need to push...they freaked out, checked me and everything turned in to chaos!
I was rushed in the OR to have an emergency C-section (come to find out her heel was coming out first) since she was breech and that's not good!
I was able to get a spinal in the OR and really worked wonders, they finally let Jason come in and be with me so he was able to see the baby born and she was put thru a window into the NICU.
Jason in his OR get up!
So after she was first born they intubated her and gave her some surfactant to open up her alveoli in her lungs
She wasn't intubated for too long
This was my first time seeing her and as soon as I put my hand in there she opened her eyes
This is right before CPAP
Holding on for dear life :)
When the kids came up the morning after I delivered, we were able to go into the NICU to see the new baby.
We were very fortunate to have a wonderful nurse who let us all in at the same time
This is the first time I was able to hold her...she is completely oxygen free!
I was amazed that they let the kids have a chance to hold her for a second

Riley & Radlyn

Proud papa Jason
Our first family group shot!
She is still here in the NICU and probably will be for a few weeks, but she is doing amazing!
She still has an IV that is giving her caffine which stimulates her brain to tell her to breathe.
She is off her antibiotics, and they check to see if she still needs to be under the lights which depends on her labs. She is getting tube feeds and they are slowly increasing those as she tolerates them. Right now its a little less than 1/2 an ounce and they have been able to use my milk. We actually attempted the breast feeding thing and they were very surprised that she attempted to do it....so big steps for a tiny little girl!
We have been truely blessed with so many miracles and each day looks better and better.
Thanks to everyone who has prayed in our behalf it has been wonderful!

She's beautiful Nikki! I'm glad she's doing well. Congratulations!
Nikki, She is beautiful and so itty bitty. I love teeny babies. I am glad you are holding her. It all sounds so good. I am glad she is progressing so quickly. She is a little fighter. Seems to me you just might have a stubborn spunky kid on your hands.
She is beautiful. We are so glad that you are both doing so good. We know the craziness of having a baby early just not quite as early as you. We pray that it won't be long until you get to bring her home. Congrats!!!
Got all choked up just reading that...even though I already knew it all! Loved the pics and it was great to see you and to meet Radlyn. I wish I could have stayed up there to help. I would love to come back up and help out...if I could just figure out what to do with the kiddos! I love you tons - the kids have been helping me pray that she will grow quickly and learn how to eat so she can come home!!! Congrats - she is beautiful!
Wow! My mom called me last night to tell me you had had your baby. I am so glad that she is strong and doing so well. What a scare but a good ending. I look forward to seeing more beautiful pictures. Our prayers continue to be with you and your new baby girl!
Ok, that is crazy. Welcome to the world of four kids. I felt that it was way different than 3! I am sure you will handle it better than I did. I am glad everything went well...that is scary. All of your kids are cute. Congradulations.
